India - Varanasi

Varanasi, probably the holiest city on the banks of "Mother Ganges," has held a special place in my photographic consciousness and heart since first visiting in 2007. We had an afternoon, evening and following morning there, in the back streets, on the ghats, at the Ganga Aarti ceremony (already presented). and then on the ghats again before sunrise and out on the river.

My photos here are limited but show a cross-section of what we experienced.

I'd still go back to Varanasi, given the opportunity, for it is a place of unlimited photographic potential. (And now I have two new Facebook friends who live there, so my contacts are guaranteed fruitful!)
