Taos Fiesta - July 2013

In July 2013 I traveled to New Mexico, principally to attend the 50th anniversary of my first year as a Ranger at Philmont Scout Ranch. After those two days, I had decided to drive to Taos, 50 miles and a vast change in culture to the west. By luck, I stumbled upon their annual weekend Fiesta, celebrating the area's Hispanic culture.

What a photographic feast! Interspersed with a few photos of the Fiesta plaza booths and environs, I concentrated on the traditional Hispanic dance troupes. I have pared the hundreds of photos originally taken to a modest number, all filled with color and action, to the extent one may capture something as dynamic as folk dance with a still camera.
